Both teams had shots on goal, but neither was able to capitalize; OHS opens WLT play Tuesday against Slinger at home
For the second time within a week, the OHS boys varsity soccer team battled evenly with a tough nonconference opponent, but Thursday night the outcome was different. Tuesday night OHS awoke in the second half to defeat Verona, 4-2. Thursday night, in a match played prior to the varsity football game versus Waukesha South, OHS and Mukwonago, a member of the tough Classic Eight conference, fought to a 0-0 tie.
Both teams were able to possess the ball and both had numerous shots on goal, but strong play by each team’s goalie and strong defensive efforts kept the teams from scoring.
The tie leaves OHS 1-0-1 on the season. Mukwonago, coming off a 2014 season where it finished a disappointing 4-14-1, was playing in its season opener. It’s 2015 record is now 0-0-1.
Last season OHS defeated Mukwonago, 4-0, at Mukwonago.
OHS opens Wisconsin Little Ten conference play Tuesday night when it hosts Slinger at 7 p.m. Last season OHS defeated Slinger, 2-0, in the conference opener at Slinger.
