If you want to see the OHS girls cross country team in action this season, at home, you’ll have only one chance to do so: Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Nature Hill Intermediate School. Every other meet is on the road, including one at Arrowhead a week later, on Thursday, Sept. 11. The Nature Hill Invite, which features some of the top teams in the area, is scheduled to start at 4:15 with the girls junior varsity race. It will be followed immediately by the girls varsity event.

Last year OHS sophomore Marlie Houston finished second in a down-to-the-wire battle with winner Isabel Seidel of University Lake School. Houston won the title her freshman season.  She is also the defending Wisconsin Little Ten conference girls cross country champion.

OHS win the girls team title at Nature Hill last season. See article on last year’s meet.

Scheduled to compete this year are teams from Watertown, West Bend East, Germantown, Mukwonago, New Berlin West, Janesville Parker, Madison East, Milwaukee Messmer, University School, Brown Deer, and Lake Country Lutheran. Seidel graduated this past June so Houston is the top returner runner.

The meet also features a boys competition. OHS’s Paul Timm, who graduated in June, was the boys winner last year.
